A big painting
This painting on a house end is from the same street as yesterday's post, Gl. Kongevej. In fact it's right across from the Planetarium I showed you in an earlier post. I'm not sure what the motive is, so I'm open to suggestions:-)

This one is superb! Actually I wouldn't dare to suggest anything, or at leat publicly;)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend Christopher!
Whatever the real motive is, it's a fun, colorful mural! And everyone's smiling!
ReplyDeleteThis is what I was waiting for since your post yesterday ;). I see he just ate two hamburgers. I'm so bad at interpreting artworks. My apology :(. Happy weekend anyway.
ReplyDeleteVery elaborite end painting. I used to paint house exteriors but this would have been very difficult to do.
ReplyDeleteChristopher, I have an award for you and would be greatful if you would collect the following:
Uplifting Blogging Award
Plate of Fish and Chips - if you wish
Zombie Chicken (there are millions of them)
and a symbol of Peace (The Dove)
I had a big 'do' last night and I feel like a zombie chicken at the moment - all will be revealed on my post ~ Eddie
How festive. In many newer suburban areas of the USA, the homeowners' associations would prohibit painting houses except in approved colors so that there will be uniformity of appearance. There is nothing uniform about the painting on the house in your photo. It is unique.
ReplyDeleteI have now found out that it's made by Danish artist Niels Macholm in 1989 and is called Sunman with wife.
ReplyDelete@ Eddie: Many thanks for the honor and the flood of awards:-) I'll be sure to collect them and post them as soon as possibly.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea...I think...of course, in many subdivisions here they wouldn't let you do that because they tightly control all colors on the houses...
ReplyDeleteWas Niels Macholm a Picasso wannabee?
@Jacob: I've got to confess; I don't know much about him even though he should be fairly known (in Denmark anyway).
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing about these murals is that it can be difficult to obtain permission from the municipality to paint your house in a new colour, but if you want a mural on your end wall, it's usually not a problem. Very strange!
