A Common Sight

This is a more and more common sight in the, in the eyes of the Danes anyway, world-renowned welfare state of Denmark. The homeless, the poor and the lost is becoming a standard fixture of the streets of the larger cities. Most people in Copenhagen choose to ignore that fact, even though they just have to open their eyes every day to see it. Luckily a number of private welfare organisations have taken over, where the state has failed. And this happens in a state that has one of the largest taxations in the world.

  1. I kinda agree on this one, except that THIS GUY who stands on that very same spot every day across from Burger King normaly sells the Homeless papers - there are rules for people selling these papers and he can only do so when he is sober......

So he might be homeless, and he might be freezing his arse off but in this great welfare state of Denmark there are programs - for free - for people who wants to sober up.

He might be old and some might say that an old circus horse can't learn new tricks but in my opinion he should get his skinny arse off that sidewalk and go about doing something with his life!

Giving up do NOT give you the benefit of peoples pity!

  2. I agree on your comments, Deirdre-Ann, except I don't know the history of this guy. If he is foreign the Danish system is more or less closed off to him.
