Copenhagen Art Festival

 

Friday the Copenhagen Art Festival 2012 opened and with a host of events and exhibitions lasting into the autumn, there's going to be something for everyone. Some of the exhibitions will be held in the public space, like this Running Woman in the central park of Kongens Have, and some will be held at the participating art galleries. Avignon

On our way from Sanary-sur-Mer we stopped for a few hours in Avignon. As luck would it, it was during the theatre festival so performances and ticket-touts roamed the streets. At the square in front of the papal palace this group made a performance of dance. A few hours was way too short a time to spend here, so that is a town that begs for a revisit.

Start of the season

With May comes the season of outdoors entertainment and festivals to Copenhagen. And a relatively  new addition to that is the Japanese Sakura Festival held near Langelinje. With drummers, archers, martial arts performances and lots of food stalls  this is a crowd pleaser.
