Playing in the snow

Even though the weather in Copenhagen might not be their favourite, the lion cubs in Copenhagen Zoo seems to enjoy a playing in the snow.

Pulling your weight

These tiger cubs need some serious disciplining from time to time. Here the father decided to be rough on the son by standing on him with the full weight of a grown male tiger.

Jumping tiger cub

The tiger cubs in the Copenhagen Zoo sure do get their exercise. I caught this one as it was chasing one of the other cubs in big jumps.

Be serious

It's a mother's first obligation to teach the young ones how to behave in the real world. For the tigers that mean that they have to learn how to hunt. But when the lessons drag on and on and on, even the best behaved might get sidetracked. This seems to be the case with this moment, where the cub seems more interested in ambushing the mother rather than the prey, which BTW was the father.

Ambush

One of the tiger's favourite attacks is the ambush. Here a tiger cub is getting ready to jump the mother, who seems blissfully unaware of the impending sneak attack. Well, she wasn't, she was just playing along like mothers do.

Cooperation

Tiger cubs learn early how to cooperate in the hunting, even though they are lonely hunters in the wild. Here their mother is the intended victim, and that lady has the patience of a saint.

Boys will be boys

Give a boy a nice grooming and turn your eyes away for a second, and odds are that he has found a deep mucky pond to play in. This tiger cub is no exception, especially after having discovered something moving in the water. And no, tigers are very un-catly in this aspect; they love water and are excellent swimmers.

To be active

Like their human counterparts the four tiger cubs in Copenhagen Zoo are very active, playing with each other, the grownups or the "activity things" that the zoo keepers have put in their yard.
