Værnedamsvej - a street with a Parisian flair
Værnedamsvejisa small streeton themunicipal boundarybetween CopenhagenandFrederiksberg.The streetstretches over190metersandconnects Gammel Kongevej withthe junctionwhereVesterbrogadeandFrederiksberg Allémeet. The name comes fromWernerDamm(d.1762),whointhe 1730sran apopulareateryinthe street. The street wasformerly knownfor its manybutcher shops,but todaythere is only one.Insteadthere are manysmall shops andcafés,andthe streetcurrently has aParisianflair. Here the shops has moved out on the streets for a bit of celebration.
